Sun City Yacht Club was established in 1974 by a group of people dedicated to bringing the Americas Cup to Western Australia. Sea trials were held off our local waters for the racing yachts used to contest the cup - in 1977 the Sun City Yacht Club was the official challenger for the Americas Cup which was sailed off Rhode Island, New York with the American defender, Courageous defeating the club's entry, Australia in a four race series

The Sun City Yacht Club has continued since then to provide generations of local residents with Sailing and Boating skills as well as a venue for social events in the northern-most suburbs. The club sees its role as providing an important link between local communities and the marine environment.

The clubhouse has recently been refurbished, and historically known as the 'Tin Shed' is welcoming and friendly.

We offer Club Sailing in dinghies and keelboats for all ages and encourage family involvement.

The 'Signaller' is the clubs offical newsletter circulated to members regularly - keeping them up to date with social and club events.

The club offers Junior, Senior, Family and Social Memberships as well as Associate Memberships for members of other sailing clubs. If you're interested in trying sailing or already a keen sailor, give us a call or pop down to the club on a Friday night or Saturday during dinghy sailing because we'd love to have you join us.
